Writing

Have a look at the link below for work on Prepositions. Work your way through the information and videos and have a go at the quiz below. Then, if you didn't do it last week, you can challenge yourself with the attached document.

This week we are going to start planning our letter to send back to Mr Booth. Each day we will be doing a different part of the planning process. Have a look at each day to see what we are going to be doing.

Tuesday

Have a read of the letter we received from Mr Booth to remind yourself of what it was about.

Now can you write down your reasons for disagreeing or agreeing. This will be really useful for when we plan our letter.

Wednesday

Today we are planning the start of our letter. To find the sender's address and the recipient's address you will need to look at the letter from Mr Booth. Remember, we are sending it to him.

The Greeting and Topic need to be correct and catch Mr Booth's attention straight away. Remember you can have a look at the Features of a Persuasive letter work from last Friday to help.

Thursday

Today we are planning the start of our letter. Your work from Tuesday's lesson will help today.

You will need to state your argument and then give your reasons. Remember this is a plan so you are just writing your ideas. When we come to writing the letter then you will need to use your sentences.

You are trying to persuade Mr Booth so make sure your reasons are good!

Friday

Today we are planning the start of our letter. Your work from Tuesday's lesson will help today.

You will need to state your argument and then give your reasons. Remember this is a plan so you are just writing your ideas. When we come to writing the letter then you will need to use your sentences.

You are trying to persuade Mr Booth so make sure your reasons are good!

The closing statement needs to summarise what you have said in your letter and include either Yours Faithfully or Yours Sincerely depending on who you addressed your letter to.
