This term our key fairytale will be 'The Elves and the Shoemaker'. This is a classic fairytale that teaches our value of love by showing kindness to others! Perhaps the story will inspire some random acts of kindness in school or at home! If you are not familiar with the story you can listen to it below!
Our daily reading lessons focus on a different text each week. We will begin by exploring two stories linked to our topic of Scented Garden. The children will delve into the stories of ''Treasure in the Garden' and also the classic 'Peter Rabbit'. We will use their imaginations to think of new adventures for Peter in Mr McGregor's garden!
During our Non-Fiction weeks we will be reading 'Animals all Around' and 'Saving our Planet'. These books will link to our science work and help us to learn more information about the different animals on planet Earth and how we should take care of them!
Reading at home helps the children make progress in their reading at school! If they read each week night for 10-15minutes that would be over an hour a week.......over 39 hours a year! Remember to sign your reading diary daily to earn a raffle ticket in our weekly prize draw to win a book!
