Phonics and writing
We follow the Read Write Inc. Phonics programme and are working on Set 1 sounds.
We are establishing the quick recognition of these sounds, which will help us to become fluent reader and writers.
The scheme has a rhyme for each letter so that children are supported in writing letters using the correct letter formation.

It is important for children to say the pure sound for a letter. The video below supports children in saying the sound correctly, this helps children to blend sounds together when starting to read.
We have started writing on our Christmas card inserts with the special Christmas themed pens.
We wrote words relating to night-time.
