During our topic learning this term, we will be jumping over to Mexico to identifying: where it's located, what its climate is and how its ancient cultures have helped shape the modern world in which we all live. The ancient Maya civilisation will form the focus of much of our learning as we explore the history of chocolate and their unusual religious ceremonies.

On top of this, we will be listening to and creating a range of examples of Maya music, which will lead to us creating our own instruments to perform at our Mayan festival.

To kick off our Hola Mexico topic, which focuses on the traditions of Mexico, Year 5 and 6 planned and created 3-D sugar skull masks ready to use at our end of term memorable experience - The Day of the Dead Festival
