Geometry: Properties of Shape
This topic will mostly focus on angles: classifying, estimating, drawing accurately, measuring and calculating angles around a point and on a straight line.
We will then look at properties of different 2D and 3D shapes.

In this topic, we will explore translating shapes, reflecting in horizontal and vertical lines, lines of symmetry and problem solving using coordinates.

Decimals
In the last week of term, we will begin our Decimals topic. We will be adding and subtracting decimals within and across one.

This term we will continue looking at decimals including adding and subtracting numbers with decimal places and multiplying and dividing numbers by 10,100 and 1000.
Negative numbers
In this topic we will explore negative numbers, their uses and how to add and subtract, moving above and below zero.

Converting units
In this unit, we will learn and apply the conversions between different units of measure. This will allow the children to covert between different units of length, mass, capacity and time. We will look at a variety of fluency questions practicing the specific conversions before applying these in a variety of worded problem solving questions.
