Children will be given the option to dissect a pig’s heart.

The circulatory system includes the heart, blood vessels and blood. We will identify how the heart pumps blood through the blood vessels and around the body. We will dissect the heart looking at the three types of blood vessel: arteries, veins and capillaries. We will identify the different-sized hole (lumen) and walls. We will also identify the function of the white blood cells, and how they protect the body from infection.
