One Planet, Our World

We will be using maps, atlases, globes and digital maps to locate countries and study human and physical geographical features. In addition to this, we will be looking at compasses and identifying the eight points. We will use Ordnance Survey maps to learn about four and six figure grid references, to identify common features of maps, such as symbols and keys, and to deepen our knowledge and understanding of the United Kingdom and the wider world. We will be conducting some fieldwork to observe and measure the human and physical features in our local area, then we will present our findings, using a range of methods, such as sketch maps, plans, graphs and digital technologies.
