In this unit the children will design and make wind chimes from old metal tubing, cutlery, keys, chains and other scrap metal objects. They will experiment with different pieces of pipe, exploring how the length, hole bore and type of metal affects the sound that it generates when tapped with another metal object. After exploring the children will create their designs before making and evaluating their very own windchime! They will then be writing a persuasive advert to try and encourage someone to buy their wind-chime!
