We will look at place value and the four operations. We will be able to read, write, order and compare numbers up to 10,000,000 and determine the value of each digit. We will use negative numbers in context and solve number and practical problems.

We will then become confident with the four operations and tackle long division, before reminding ourselves about common factors, common multiples, and prime numbers. Using our knowledge of the order of operations we will be able to solve multi-step problems in contexts.
After half term we will be investigating fractions, looking at equivalence, compare and order, the four operations and solving problems which require answers to be rounded to specified degrees of accuracy.
We will then look at how to use, read, write and convert between standard units, converting measurements of length, mass, volume and time from a smaller unit of measure to a larger unit, and vice versa, using decimal notation to up to three decimal places.
