Who are we? What are we doing here? How then shall we live and learn together?
Our mission at St Nicholas Church of England Primary Academy, with Jesus’ promise of ‘life in all its fullness’ at its heart, is to develop a community of joyful people with enquiring minds; to develop people with a spirit of curiosity, respect for themselves, others and the environment; to develop people who are honest, kind and hopeful agents of change, so that they will have the skills and resilience to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

The Bible verse that sets our vision in its Christian context comes from:
Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV):
It is this flourishing in the love, light and grace of God that will enable our community to be wise, hopeful and live well together with dignity and respect in God’s world.
Within the love of God, at St Nicholas CE Primary Academy we serve our unique community by placing children at the heart of all that we do. Our Christian Collective Worship Themes work on a 2 Year Cycle of: (Year A) Family, Peace, Forgiveness, Justice, Love and Responsibility, (Year B) Creativity, Generosity, Courage, Hope, Perseverance & Wisdom, to encourage everybody within our community to ‘let their light shine’ and fulfil their unique potential.
Our Collective Worship Themes are underpinned by our distinctly Christian values of
The work of our school is an expression of the love & light of God in the community. Our aim is that these values are both implicit and explicit and shine throughout the life of the school and the communities in which our children live. By offering inclusive, invitational and inspiring daily acts of worship, it is our core belief that this enables the community to shine at its brightest because we know we are following the commandment from Jesus to ‘love your neighbour as yourself’ (Mark 12:31).
