In this Geography project , children will learn essential skills and knowledge about the world around them including locating map features using a range of methods. They will learn about the Prime Meridian, Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), and worldwide time zones and study climate zones, vegetation belts and biomes. We will also investigate human geography and capital cities worldwide before looking at the UK motorway network and settlements before carrying out an enquiry to identify local settlement types.

Did you know these facts about our continent?
We worked in groups to explore an OS map of our local area. We were able to identify towns, villages, the sea, farms and roads. Some of us noticed how close we live to the sea and that there are locations that share our surnames...we wondered if our ancestors were born there or the places were named after them?!
