We know that valuing differences creates an environment where people can and want to do their best. Working effectively in this diverse world starts with self-awareness and this knowledge will develop through the school, to considering how we handle bias, poor treatment, and conflict, and demonstrating that we value others. In year 3, they recognise the benefits that come with belonging to a community and think more about diversity (varying national, regional, ethnic and religious backgrounds). Life would be boring if we were all the same, differences should be celebrated. Now in year 4, we look at stereotypes and behaviours that can come from this. We also look at body language and personal space which can include aggressive behaviours.
In Year 3, we looked at fake websites. Last term in e-safety we investigated how photos can be passed from person to person. We move this learning forward looking at how the media use stereotypes and how this data is shared.
