Sense of smell

Can you recall your 5 senses? What experiments have we conducted already that test our senses?

Today you will be using your sense of smell.

First- go around your house and have a good smell! What can you smell? Does anything smell really nice? Does anything smell horrible? 

Can you write or draw the things you can smell and write whether they are a good smell or bad smell.

Grownups-

If you are able to, gather a few different smelling items for your child to smell with their eyes closed. Can the children guess the item? For example, you could use: coffee, lemon, vinegar, vanilla/vanilla extract, something minty like toothpaste and some aftershave/perfume. Encourage the children to think of words to describe the smell.
