Valuing Differences

Vocabulary:

Unique    Special    Respectful    Praise    Isolation   Loneliness

We know that valuing differences creates an environment where people can and want to do their best. Working effectively in this diverse world starts with self-awareness and this knowledge will develop through the school, to considering how we handle bias, poor treatment, and conflict, and demonstrating that we value others.

Previously they have investigated their physical appearance, houses and celebrations looking for similarities and differences, now in Year 2 they start to think about the word respect.  Previously, children have looked at people who are special to them, now they start to identify why they are special. Year 2 are developing their knowledge from last term about cyber bullying to think about how they can show respect for each other online. They develop their knowledge of kindness by thinking of how to show kindness.
