Topic and Art

This week, you will be researching one of the famous animals found on the Galapagos Islands.

You will research the animal and write down information you find as a fact-file.

Include any adaptations the animal has developed to help them survive on the island. The animals may have evolved over time to suit the environment.

When you are done, complete the Art lesson. Please sketch and colour in a picture of the animal on the SAME PAGE.

Art
Charles Darwin conducted a lot of his studies on the Galapagos Islands.
This week, we are going to have a look at some of the wonderful creatures that inhabited the islands and make colourful drawings of them. Which will you choose to draw – a Marine Iguana, a Frigatebird, a Blue or Red Footed Booby, a Sally Lightfoot Crab or one of the many colourful fish?
Sketch your favourites, remembering to look carefully at the details, and if you have some colouring pencils you can colour them too!
Here is a video link showing how to draw different animal skin textures that you might want to watch first for a few tips - http://www.viewpure.com/hgJN5Coe8hc?start=0&end=0
I'd love to see some photographs of your creations so please send them to the remote learning email address –

I can’t wait to see your amazing art work!
