This term we will be looking at persuasive writing.

We will start the term by exploring and writing persuasive letters. To ensure our letters are effective we will look closely at example texts to find out how to use persuasive devices in our writing to convince the reader into thinking what we want them to think. 

Following this, we will be looking at writing a biography. To tie this into our Stargazers topic, the focus of our biographies will be Neil Armstrong. Armstrong was an American astronaut and aeronautical engineer who is famous for being the first man to walk on the moon. 

We will also be writing a newspaper article, again linking this to our topic of Stargazers.

This term we will focus on the fluidity of our writing by understanding how to create cohesion. This will include: structuring sentences, using conjunctions and adverbials to link ideas across paragraphs and improving our own abilities to proof-read and edit our work.
