The children will learn more about the origins of food first explored in the Year 1. They will learn about the parts of the plants we eat and the variety of foods that come from animal sources. They will explore tools used for food prep and decide which tool to use for a specific task. Children will discover why some foods are cooked and learn to read a simple recipe. They will finish by choosing a new, healthy, school lunch recipe that fits a set criteria.
