He is starving, lonely and a long way from home. Determined to save him, April begins the most important journey of her life… This moving story will win the hearts of children the world over and show them that no one is too young or insignificant to make a difference.
This term the children will be using Last Bear as their inspiration to write their own descriptions of the amazing Arctic landscape April finds herself thrown into. Prophets will also be using powerful imagery to describe her new best friend so the reader can picture exactly what this phenomenal creature looks like and how he acts. In order to help Bear, we will be writing a letter to try and persuade people to save the last bear on the island before taking on the role of April as she creates her daily diary of life in the Arctic and her growing relationship with Bear.
