Reading

It is incredibly important to remember to read at home 5 times per week. This does not need to be an entire book. Write in your reading journal each day with what you have read and bring it to your class teacher to be signed. We want to have the most reading tickets in the box every Friday!  

This term our new class novel is Charlotte's Web. I am VERY excited that this is our novel this term. I know you are going to love this book as much as I do! 

In our reading lessons we are going to spend Monday and Friday focusing on our class novel where we will be looking carefully at each of the characters and further improving our inference and comprehension skills. 

Writing

Our writing focus this term is writing to inform. We are going to be completing this by writing two different text. The first text that we will focus on this term is an informative letter. For this we will be able to use our letter writing skills from last term. We will be looking at both formal and informal letter writing. 

We will then be moving on to writing a non-chronological report, which we will link to our topic for this term. For this we will be learning lots of new skills and extending our already fantastic vocabulary.
