Over The Summer terms children will continue through the cycle of exploring Fiction texts, Non-Fiction texts and songs/poetry. This cycle repeats over both summer terms. Here is a snippet of some of the stories, information texts and songs/poems they will get to learn about. Summer one starts off with 'The Reluctant Dragon' and then moves on to 'Winnie The Pooh' by A.A Milne. Following is: Why are tomatoes not a fruit?, Settlements, Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head by B.J Thomas and summer term 1 finishes off with 'This is Me' from The Greatest Showman.

Summer term 2
We begin again with Fiction text, the first being 'The day the Crays Quit' and then 'Stig Of The Dump' by Clive King. The non-fiction text will be on Grace Darling Moussaka Recipe, I'm sure there will be some children wanting to have a go making this, it looks YUM! Finally this term will end the year with 'Try Everything' (Zootropolis) and 'It's A Hard Knock Life' from Annie. Again giving the children the opportunity to watch the movie Annie would be a great way to end the year. The class will all be able to look at and compare the text to the movie.
