Reading

Each term we aim to enjoy a range of texts in our reading lessons as well as listening to stories each day during story time.  Each term we spend two weeks reading each of the genres of fiction, non-fiction and poetry.  This term we will be exploring the following texts: Knufflebunny, Rumplestiltskin, A-Z of musical instruments, What's that noise?, family poems and My forst book of poetry.

Our Class Fairytale

This term our fairy tale is Jack and the Beanstalk.  We will read this story at least twice a week so that by the end of the term the children are able to retell the story, talk about the characters and understand the meaning behind it.

If you are not familiar with the story this short video will help!

Week One

This week we have been reading the story of Knuffle Bunny!  Some of the children have fallen in love with Trixie and were able to relate to her behaviour in the story.  It promoted lots of discussion about feelings.
