Reading

Remember on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays we split into two groups. One with Mr Lee and one with Mr Rowlatt. The on Friday we are all one big group again. Mr Rowlatt's group's work is in the folder above and my group's work can be found below.

This week all of our Reading lessons will be focused on Fiction texts.

Friday

To be able to use inference to make predictions.

Today we are going to be looking at our new class book for this term.

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis.

I'm not going to give anything away about this book because today we are going to be using our inference skills to make predictions about what you think is going to happen in the story.

Your task

Your task is to use any information you can from the front cover of the book to make predictions about what you think will happen in the story. Remember, by using our inference skills we can get information from words and pictures.

Remember to explain your predictions using what you can see on the front cover. Have a look at my example answer below.

Example answer

I predict the story will be about a flying lion that steals children. I think this because I can see a Lion in the picture and it is carrying two children through the air and the tittle of the book also includes The Lion so that makes me think he is a main character.
