Provision Statement

The provision in EYFS at St Nicholas C of E Primary Academy is centred around enabling every child to shine. By ensuring that “Children are at the centre of all we do”, the weekly/ termly theme allows the children to be immersed in a vocabulary-rich environment where they can explore and make connections which help them to flourish. We will often link our weekly provision to a story, song or theme where they are then given opportunities and experiences to ignite a passion for and a life-long love of learning.

CDS-CIC Supervised Toothbrushing Video

Here at St Nicholas C of E Primary Academy we are very proud to be able to offer our Reception children daily toothbrushing opportunities. Dental hygiene is important for children because it can help prevent tooth decay and gum disease, which are the most common dental problems in children. Good oral hygiene can also:
- Improve a child's ability to eat, sleep, talk, and play
- Help children feel good about themselves
- Be a marker of wider health and social care issues, such as poor nutrition and obesity
Below is a short video showing you how the supervised toothbrushing session can run, involving some of our very own pupils from Noah's Ark Class.
