This project teaches children about the visual elements of flowers, including shape, texture, colour, pattern and form. They also explore various artistic methods, including drawing, printmaking and 3-D forms, using paper and clay.
The children we be introduced to the theme of the project by watching a Flower video. The children we be encourage to talk about the flowers' visual elements, including their shape, form, colour and pattern. The children will observe and explore flowers first-hand by either having real flowers to sketch or by going outside to draw flowers in situ in a garden or wild landscape. We will encourage them to look carefully and draw what they see, naming the different flower parts.
