Addition and Subtraction (within 10)
This term we will be learning about addition and subtraction within 10. We will find out about number bonds and begin to write number sentences. We will learn how to find missing numbers in part whole models and use them for both addition and subtraction. Finally we will explore what 'difference' means and begin to learn how we can find the difference between two quantities or numbers.

Working out the difference
Geometry: Shape
Next we will spend a week exploring our geometry unit of the term. This will involve us learning the names for 2D and 3D shapes and using new vocabulary to describe their properties.

Place Value (within 20)
Our final unit of the term is 'Place Value within 20' where we will learn that two digit numbers are made up of tens and ones. We will expand our number range to 20 and learn to build number using base 10 equipment. We will then compare and order them.
