Gospels thoroughly enjoyed visiting Skegness. We built sandcastles, buried our friends and paddled in the sea!
What an amazing day exploring the beach in Skegness! This was lots of the Children's first visit to the beach and their faces were filled with awe and wonder especially when they saw the waves crashing against the shore!
Apostles had a lovely session in with Noah's Ark where the children told us all about the ducklings that had recently hatched: Chips, Cheese and Gravy!
Apostles had great time learning the basics of first aid with Christina! We had to learn our address off by heart so that we could tell the emergency services where will live. We learnt how important it is to sit, chop, chew our food whilst eating to limit the chances of choking!
Mini First Aid visited Gospels to teach us how to help someone if they hurt themselves, how to call an ambulance and how to eat food safely.
Guitar Workshop Year 2! It was fascinating watching how hard they all tried to play together! What a wonderful opportunity!

Author visit to Apostles! We had a great session asking Sarah Siggs lots of questions about her life as an author and where she got her inspiration from!
Sarah Siggs, the author of Mud Boy visited St Nichs today and she shared 5 items that helped Sarah talk about herself. We then drew our own items in a basket to tell people about ourselves.
A special well done treat for EVERYBODY! The local ice cream company (Skinners Ice Cream) paid us a visit this break time!
Kay from Pots of Fun visited Gospels and Apostles class. We made pinch pots in the shapes of animals. It was great fun and very messy!
Emma came to teach us how to hula hoop. She taught us some tips to keep the hula hoop up and some cool tricks!
Boston College visited Gospels and Apostles classes to help finish off this Term's topic 'Wriggle and Crawl' with a BANG! They brought in a variety of mini-beasts along for us all to explore!
Paul Cookson visited Gospels and Apostles classes and he helped each classes write an amazing poem all about mini-beasts! What a great end to our mini-beast topic!
Year 2 had a 'Friendship and Relationships' talk led by Lincolnshire County Council.
Asda Steve helped Gospels plant a bean. We are now excited to watch them grow!
Comic Relief activities with Saints class!
Year 2 Exploring Exotic Fruits! In our science lesson this week, we were lucky enough to have Asda Steve in to visit to help us answer the question 'Which is our favourite exotic fruit?' We discussed and organised how we would answer this question and decided to record the results in a tally chart! We showed great curiosity and tasted lots of new abs exciting fruits!
After school Gardening Club
This evening we learnt all about what type of bugs lived in and around our outdoor provision. We had a lot of fun finding giant worms, slimy slugs and massive spiders. We found out that we are more likely to find spiders where spider webs are and slug/worms underneath objects that have been in one place for a long time.
It was amazing to see everyone so enthusiastic and their light shining so brightly.
After school Construction Club
This evening, we had some special visitors who attended our club. These special visitors were robots that we had constructed. They were walking and talking for the whole session as robots while visiting every member of staff. It was amazing to see the awesome role play and getting into character.
We also had some amazing princess castles and holiday resorts that had a swimming pool for everyone to swim in.
ASDA Donation
Apostles had a donation of ingredients to create home made pizzas from our local ASDA Champion, Steve! We had great fun making them, following instructions linked to our English topic. We then wrote a recount of our experiences!
Gospels joined with Prophets to talk about Neil Armstrong. Lots of interesting facts were shared and discussed.
After school Construction Club
What a fun session we have had tonight, we explored different materials that we could use to build with as well as using our imagination to build amazing towers, cinemas, space ships and different shapes.
It was amazing seeing everyone’s light shine and discussing what they had built.
After school Gardening Club
What a great but busy Gardening Club we have had this week. We all worked together to look around the allotment and orchard to see what jobs we needed to do to get the allotment ready for planting season. We decided as a team that the allotment needed a good weeding, there were lots of great team work going on which was amazing to see.
It was amazing to see everyone’s light shining throughout club.
After school Construction Club
What a great club we had tonight with Apostles and Gospels class. We had a lot of fun using our imagination and a range of materials to build towers, erupting volcanoes and houses. It was great to see lots of teamwork and sharing going on.
I couldn’t believe how bright their light was shining and how big their smiles were throughout!
Boston Tennis club came to teach Gospels. It was fantastic!
ASDA Steve paid Year 2 Apostles a visit today to share with us that you can eat different parts of a variety of plants! It linked to all of our science learning this term and we loved trying lots of different foods!
Willoughby Foods visited us and brought lots of tasty, nutritious food!
FARMER TIME
This year we have an exciting new opportunity for the children at St Nicholas Academy!
We will be having fortnightly video calls between a real farmer and ourselves. Bringing the countryside to life.
Farmer Time is all about harnessing the power of digital communications to inspire, engage and educate young people about not only the journey from farm to fork but also the everchanging, diverse agricultural industry. Children regularly chat live to their matched farmer from their classrooms through FaceTime or Skype, discuss ideas, ask questions, share knowledge and gain a ‘real-time’ understanding of the issues farmers face every day.
Year 2, Apostles. We had a lovely stroll this morning to visit Father John in St Nicholas Church!!We were able explore all the different areas of church and learn so many new and interesting facts! We loved lighting our very own candles and thinking about someone special to us.
Gospel class trip to St Nicholas church
WOW day! Rio de Vida! Year 1 and Year 2 held a Brazilian carnival to kick start this colourful topic. We dressed up in our brightest carnival clothes and made colourful masks. We played carnival music and invited Mrs Booth and Mr Bell to join in our procession around the classes. We loved participating by clapping, dancing and moving in time to the music.
