    Phonics

    Noah’s Ark follows the Letters and Sounds phonics programme. Follow the link below to access Phonics lessons by choosing the sound that your child may need to practice.

    Alphablocks are short episodes that can be accessed via BBC iPlayer or the link below. Alphablocks are characters made up of the letters of the alphabet to help children learn to read.

    PhonicsPlay is an interactive phonics resource with games and opportunities to practice sounds. You have a free access login and password so your child can play phonics games online at no cost. Click on the link below to start playing and the children are familiar with the games.

    Click to learn the Tricky Words by listening to the song

    These are all the tricky words that children will need to learn during their Reception year. These words can't be sounded out and need to be recognised by sight. It is a great idea to write them out and have them dotted around the house for children to practice.

    We don't follow the Jolly Phonics programme, but these the rhymes they use. They are quite catchy and help children to remember the sounds.

    Numberblocks are an amazing resource to explore all things Maths. The numerous episodes can be accessed via BBC iPlayer or the link below and are a fun way of engaging children in Maths activities.
